Our Staff
La Rochelle Preparatory is a home away from home. We are a bilingual Early Childhood Development-centre in Oak Glen, Bellville. We currently have 6 classes, ranging from our 2 & 3 year-old- class to Gr R. We offer aftercare, as well as a fun-filled holiday programme. We are excited to share that we are embarking on a new journey as a Preparatory School, starting with Gr. 1 from 2026!
La Rochelle Voorbereidingskool is ‘n gelukkige familie van kinders , ouers en ‘n span kundige, toegewyde personeellede. Kinders ontdek speel-speel die WKOD-kurrikulum. Ons groot, boomryke speel-area bied ‘n lieflike ruimte waar kinders na hartelus kan klim, klouter en baljaar.
‘n Gelukkige kind is ‘n leergierige kind. Daarom werk ons ten nouste met ouers saam om ‘n optimale leeromgewing te skep. Dis ons passie om elke kind se potensiaal holisties te ontwikkel en hulle die grondslag te gee vir ‘n suksesvolle, vervulde lewe vorentoe.

I am a mommy and a granny off two. My teaching career of 32 years was with Gr. 2’s and Gr. 1’s Now I have the best of both worlds being “granny-Teacha” of the 4-5 year olds!

Celia Smith
I started my teaching career at Zonnekus Primary School in Milnerton. It changed names to Woodbridge Primary School. After my post became an excess post, I taught at Ysterplaat Junior School, only to return to Woodbridge Primary School in 2008. I retired from the school at the end of 2022. After a year, I decided to go back into the teaching profession and I am grateful to be teaching at such a wonderful school.
My vision is to make school a fun place and to make a difference in every child’s life.
